Directors' Notes :

... Act One [1. Road & 2. Castle] + Act Two [3. Sea] -- cuts.

... I have to remember that R/G is about me -- lost ("extra"), non-essentual ... and THEATRE, which passed by touching my face with its invisible wing.

What (historical) directions ? What could good directions be, besides stage directions?

Did Hamlet have his way out? Prince Hamlet, formerly known as "Prince" -- what was he doing in Eisinore?

Did he want them to take him back to the university, the two who knew him as Hamlet, not "Prince Hamlet"... And how they address him -- ?

Betrayal -- that was obvious.

notes : thinking of students for R/G 2008:

saw Stoppard's film on Fri. -- they are afraid to do tragedy (he doesn't let you go, where Beckett does).

Shakespeare looks like a man (even in his "fun" comedies).

So bold with Hamlet : Ghost = God-Father, Son ...

both know the end, and H. knows -- death. death, death.

Including, Ophelia, mother, himself... and as Oedipus : truth is more important than life.

Here's Adam' story again!

Would they understand how serious R/G is?

Both Brits (actors) and Stoppard himself -- R and G. betrayed themselves, friend, and -- must be punished, killed -- and the last shot (execution) is a relief: do both understand it without saying a word to each other?

That's the story, Garry, not "Hamlet"! (Oldman's interview after the movie).
