Beckett was " last modernist" (Kronin).

40 years (half a century) of postmodernism, no wonder that theatre is dead (Beckett : "end of the play and theatre").

Film Poetry and "The End of Theatre"

"The End" and "The of Theatre", wrote Beckett in 1950s.

The picture (right) is the portrait of a spectator. Theatre public is live? But unknown.

What about film "audience"? It's virtual, projected.

What is indeed we use the screen as magic mirror -- and show the invisible : "stream of conscience"?

That's how "Wild Strawberries" begin (almost, I would cut out everything before the first Dr. Berg's dream -- and would start straight from "inside").

"Hidden Theatricality" is in technology (recording, projecting and etc.) -- film is extremely "artificial" and THEATRE is natural by comparison.

As a theatre spectator my imagination remains private, contradicting new Millennium communistic order. [ http://filmplus.org/vtheatre ]
